Vintage Baby | Photoshoot

Hello Everyone!

So on Halloween weekend, I decided to head to Austin,Texas and spend sometime with my sisters who live down there and go to 6th street on Halloween day (which was a big jumble of people). But anyways, that Sunday my sister and I headed to a small town just outside of Austin called "Dripping Springs" where we met up with one of her friends, her sister and her adorable babies.

First ColourPop Haul | Video!

So this was my first ColourPop Haul (as you can probably tell by the title) and I loved all of the things that I got. Especially the eye shadows. They are so pigmented and just plain beautiful. ColourPop not only has great products, but they are really cheap as well. Those eye shadows were only $5.00/each! That is a really good deal. But I go a bit more into details in my latest video, so if you are interested in finding out how I feel about all the products, then just watch the video below!! Oh and make sure to subscribe as well!!

And here are some close up pictures of all the things that I got. If you want to find out more of would like to purchase them, all you have to do is click on the images!!

Dr. Bronner's Soap | Magic Soap

For a while now I have been trying to find a soap to clean my make up brushes with that I knew would actually clean them super well. It was a hard search, but after a while I found it. The best soap to wash your brushes is Dr. Bronner's Pure-Castile Bar.

I don't remember which beauty person it was, but one of them posted a picture of this soap package that was blue and had a lot of words on it. In the description, she had written that it was a great soap to wash your brushes with. I started looking through the comments to see where you could find it, and they said Trader Joe's. If you don't know what that is, it is just a really small grocery store that has local products and organic stuff and it is really really cheap. So I went to Trader Joe's and picked myself up one of these "magic soaps".

1. Cleaning My Make Up Brushes

Never had I seen my beauty blender so clean since I bought it. When I washed the beauty blender with the soap (which I got in Peppermint)- the beauty blender was completely clean from all of the make up that had been on it. Ordinary soap that I was using would leave a lot of it behind and with this one the beauty blender was completely rid of the make up. No color from the foundation or concealer where left behind, just a bright pink beauty blender. The only down side of this is that it leaves the beauty blender with a weird sort of "dry" feeling after I wash it. Now remember, a beauty blender must be damp before you use it for it to work best, but I feel even when it is damp, that it is sort of dry. But that is not really a problem, because I just wet it, squeeze all the water out and blot it on a towel and that is it. It works great! I also use it to clean my brand new Sigma Brushes, which I am sort of scared to clean, because I don't want to ruin them. And it took all of the product off. Again, it made the hairs on the brushes feel a little strange, but I just got some normal soap after I washed it with the "magic soap" and they felt amazing and kept "working" as they should.

2. Washing My Face
I thought since it works so well with cleaning all of the make up off of my brushes, what would it be like to clean my face with it? So one day I grabbed my soap and washed my face with it. I have been washing my face with only this soap for about a month and the difference is AMAZING! My face is no longer red or bumpy with white heads. After I wash it my face feels super smooth and super clean! If it can remove make up really well from a beauty blender, image it removing all of that make up off of your face. I have tried so many products to help me with my white heads and black heads and nothing has seemed to work. I always get them. But with this soap, that problem has gone down. No longer do I have those bumps or is my face red. It looks healthy and clean.Seriously, this soap is awesome.

If you haven't tried this soap I really suggest you try it for yourself. Start by using it on your brushes, then try it on your face or whatever. Remember, everyone bodies react to things differently so make sure and be aware that it may not act the same way with you as it does with me, but still try it out for a couple of days.

If you use this soap or recommend a soap that is really good, let me know! I would love to check out other products!

Adding Floating Social Media Buttons | Techie Stuff

I have gotten a couple of questions asking how I do things to my blog. Codes, design, all of that stuff. And I love sharing that with you guys, so today I am going to show you how I do that. As part of my little page, Techie Stuff. Where you can find a lot of different little gadgets to help spice up your blog.

Today I am showing you all how to add floating social media buttons, just like the ones I have on LovelyParis Designs' website. (Click here to see them live!). I love these because they aren't really in your way, but there so you can see them all the time and on every page. So people won't just see them on your home page, but wherever they go on your blog. So now I'm going to show you guys how it is done!

1. Go to Template > Back Up/ Restore > Back Up your template, just in case!
2. Go to the Template tab again> Edit HTML> Find the code </head> and paste this code right below that:

<div class='social-top' style='font-style: normal;'>

<div>
<li class='social1'><YOUR TWITTER URL'><img class='social-image' height='40px' src='http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p595/whimsicalblogs/emma-twitter.png' width='40px'/></a></li></div>

</div>

3. Once you paste that, go to the Template Tab again and this time go to Customize.
4. Go to Advanced> Add CSS, paste this code, click enter, and then click "Apply to Blog"

Fall Glam Look | Video

Hello there everyone! I am so happy to have a video up. It has been two weeks and I don't like not uploading that long, but I have bronchitis and finding time to film a video while constantly coughing and do voice overs can be really tough. I filmed this video a couple of days before my bronchitis got really bad, so I am not as sick during the filming. But, you might tell on the voice overs (hopefully not), that I am sick! Anyways, I put together this cut crease look with a dark lip for the autumn season. I hope you guys like this look!

Milani Lipsticks | Favorties

Hello everyone! So I am currently obsessing over these Milani lipsticks-well I have for a while and now I find myself more and more addicted to getting them every time I stop by the drugstore. I wanted to get more neutral and dark colors for this fall season so that is what I did. They make a great addition to my current collection of Milani Lipsticks. So here are the 7 that I currently own.
The ones that I just got are Bahama Beige, Velvet Merlot, and Blushing Beauty.

Velvet Merlot really got my attention because of its dark red and brown mixture. But when I tried it on at home it was just a dark red. In the picture it looks much darker. I am not disappointed thought because I really like the color it is perfect for that night out and some crazy bold eyes to tie it all together.
The next one is the beautiful dark pink. I really love how this one looks on. Sort of like a flirty, innocent look and I really like how soft it goes on. I can't wait to play around with this one more and I know it will be one of my go-to lipsticks!
These are my neutrals. Matte Innocence, Bahama Beige, and Nude Creme. Nude Creme is my everyday nude/pink lipstick. I wear this almost all the time and I just love it. It is soft and has this sweet finish to it since it isn't matte. Bahama Beige is one that I just picked up and loving it so far. It has a brown undertone to the nude.
The other once I have had for a while now. And I love them alot, except for the matte finish on some of them. You have to play around with them a little bit so it doesn't look all weird and you can see all the bumps and everything that is on your lips. So your lips have to be super smooth and perfect in order for the matte to look good but if you just rub your finger on top of it and maybe a coat of chapstick, then It looks good.

Have any Milani Lipsticks you love? Let me know which ones they are!! I would love to hear your thoughts on them!

Sigma Purchase | Brushes

Hey There Everyone! So today I got something I have been wanting for a while. Sigma Brushes. I know everyone said that they are really good, so I wanted to try them for myself. I got home from work and started playing with them and they are seriously amazing. I have never owned good brushes and now that I want to get a bit more serious on learning about make up, I thought it would be good to purchase quality brushes. I only got three to see how I like them and I will be buying more very soon.
Here they are:
E40
E35
E06
This is the E40. The best blending brush that I have ever used. Easy to handle, and just great at doing what it is meant to do which is fantastic! As you can probably tell, I have already used it and I was amazed on how good it blended that transition color.
The next one I purchased was the E35 which is the Tapered Blending Brush. This is Perfect for the crease. I was using a small blending brush before that was hard to use but because this one is sort of flat, it goes into the crease effortlessly and makes the blending so smoothly and makes for a beautiful finish when blending two colors.
The last one that I purchased was the E06 which is the Winged Liner Brush. Let me tell you I have looked for a brush that was good to use for winged looks, because I love winged liner and Pretty much what I do everyday and It was so hard to make it look good, but If you look at the image below, you can see how AMAZING that winged liner came out. I was amazed on how easy it was to create it and how the brush just did all the hard work for me, I just had to guide it. Love this brush and I would say it is my favorite out of the three.
This is the look that I did using all my new brushes and I am so happy with how it turned out.

Have any Sigma Brushes you really like? Let me know which ones, so I can check them out in my next purchase!

Till Next Time!! <3

New Job, New Me | Renewed

It took me sometime to actually click "Publish" to this post. Not sure why, But here it is.

Hello Everyone, So instead of a beauty video, or anything else I wanted to talk to you guys (more of a self-expressing rant for myself that you might like to read).

So on July 10th I put in my two-weeks notice in at Charming Charlie after working there for two years. I was actually kind of scare to put my two-weeks in because I didn't want to upset the managers or have them kind of be mad at me for leaving after such a long time, but it had to be done, and It went well. I worked well and left on a positive note.

One of my friends that worked with me at Charming Charlie, offered me her current job. She was the night receptionist at my local church, and they paid really well. So, since she was leaving to student-teach she needed someone who would take her place as the receptionist, and I couldn't pass it up. The way she described the job was so appealing. "Answering the phones, doing a bit of paper work, and when there was no one, even watch Netflix and just sit there and do nothing". Pretty perfect right? I know! I was so excited. And it was just that!

I was shocked and amazed on how nice everyone was and how different it was from my previous job. Working retail, you never know who is going to walk in the front door. How they are going to treat you, what their mood is, what their intentions are. Working retail really was stressful, especially where the store I worked at was located. The location had become a not-so-safe area. Constant shop lifters and even got robbed at gun point once. Every month it was a different story. The last week that I was there we got robbed two nights in a row. Someone decided to break in and steal our registers. Thinking that we had left the registers full that night, they came in the next morning and tried to take them, but to their surprise they where empty and luckily they didn't return. I NEVER felt safe there. I was always scared to go into work and especially close because we would leave around 10pm. I had been wanting to leave since it started to get really bad, but finding a job was no simple task. I didn't want to do retail again so I limited myself to only apply to office positions or doctor's office, but nothing. It was a hard search and I was so lucky to have found this one.

It is crazy how things like a job can change the way you see things around you, the way you feel about things, and how you act. Well-at least for me it was this way. With only a couple of days of being there I could feel myself calm down mentally. Being in a non-safe environment, I was constantly anxious and on edge about anything. It may sound horrible, but I felt life everyone that came in the store was going to rob us, hurt someone, and just bad things like that. I was never happy being there in that place. But here, I was fine. A kind of fine that was weird. Too fine. I have been there about 3 weeks already and I still feel strange(in a good way). I find myself thinking "Is this really my job, here?". Yes. I work at one of the best places, for me. Working at a church seriously has made me a better person. Thats weird right? How a job could change me? It really has. This was God's plan all along. I asked him to please protect me every time that I went to work at Charming Charlie, and he did. nothing bad ever happened to me there. He was telling me "Just wait". And by waiting he gave me the best job. Close to Him. Which is more than I could ever have asked for. I feel like this was his plan all along. I needed to be there. This is a way to heal myself without me even knowing it. I feel myself heal from all the anxiety, depression and all the crap that I was going through. It is amazing.

I can say that I wasn't the most perfect daughter. I was (am) rude to my mom a lot. I can't control it, really. When I snap I just snap. But during these past few days, I find myself thinking to calm down, think before you speak, just relax. And I can tell you that it has made such a big impact. Which is the way it should be. I should never be rude to my mom. I love her to death. I don't really know how I could ever speak to her the way I do sometimes, but I now have this control I didn't have before. And I can only think of one thing.. God. Seriously, the closer I get to God the better person I become. And this has happened just because I am the receptionist at a church? No. This has happened because of where I am and the people around me. The people around me burst with faith, they are humble, God loving people who project kindness, happiness, sympathy which there for sticks to me. It is reflected upon me in a way that I can only thank God for. Just when I was loosing myself, He grabbed onto me, and said "No, I won't let you go". I don't really know how else to explain it. How I can type it out into words, because there are really not enough words for me to describe the difference I feel within myself. How just a change of environment where you know you need to be can make you who you are suppose to be. I couldn't be more grateful. Seriously. At first I saw this as just a job, but now I see it as a way to heal myself from all the things I shouldn't be or do Into someone I should be. I am so thankful for this. I hope it keeps going well too, because I really enjoy it. I really do. Thank you God.

Thank you.

Hi !
So I am here again a bit late to post this since the video did go up a couple of days ago, but here I am. So this is my new make up routine for work. I did get a new job as a receptionist so I am keeping my make up a little bit more subtle and really glowy. I haven't put down my Becca Higlighter since I got it and I have no share. I love it so much and I feel like it adds a lot to such a minimal look. I just look so glowy and fresh! So here is the video on how I got this simple and fresh look.

So make sure to stick around until the end of the video to see that. Hope you enjoy the video and make sure to subscribe to my little growing channel.

New Items at LovelyParis Designs

Hello Everyone! It has been a little while since I have posted, but I just wanted to take some time off from everything and relax before I start my new job which I am really excited about! And for me, relaxing consists of designing. That means new templates. I am so excited to share the newest templates from LovelyParis Designs.

The newest template is the Emilia Nicole Template. I love how this one turned out (That sounds weird since I designed it, but still). I really took my time with this one and I am really happy with it. I especially like the "Welcome" part and the social media buttons. But anyways, the inspiration behind this our most popular templates, Nova Isabelle and Emma Valentine. The name Emilia was inspired by one of my favorite little humans, Emilia Saccone-Joly from YouTube. I absolutely adore her and her family and since I like them so much, I decided to name my template, Emilia!  I also wanted to keep it boho-chic and give it a darker feel to it, but still have a pop of color which is brought out really nicely with the turquoise. This template comes with a fixed navigation bar, a "Pin It" hover effect on blog post images, header and welcome pictures to edit, a custom search bar and a "How To Install" guide.

This Gabriella Template is so different from ALL of our other templates. This one is more of a magazine style template that provides a cleaner and more organized look. But even though it is a super clean and simple blog template, it still has its little fun parts. This blogger template comes with a custom "welcome" image, a "Pin It" hover effect for blog post images, and hover effect social media buttons. I love how this template came together and I hope that you guys like it too! For a live preview just Click the Image.
